58.       Chư Huynh khả kính, chúng tôi đã nói dài việc tôn sùng Người Mẹ của Chúa như là một yếu tố toàn diện của việc tôn thờ Kitô giáo. Điều này cần phải có bởi bản chất của vấn đề này, một vấn đề trong những năm gần đây đã trở thành đối tượng nghiên cứu và cải cách và có những lúc là nguyên nhân gây ra tình trạng lung túng. Chúng tôi cảm thấy an ủi khi nghĩ rằng công việc này được thực hiện bởi Tòa Thánh và bởi chính chư huynh để thi hành các tiêu chuẩn của Công Đồng – nhất là việc canh tân phụng vụ – là một tảng đá lót đường cho một việc tôn thờ Thiên Chúa là Cha và Con và Thánh Thần một cách sống động và mến yêu hơn bao giờ hết, cũng như để gia tăng đời sống Kitô giáo của tín hữu. Chúng tôi cảm thấy tràn đầy tin tưởng khi nhận thấy rằng phụng vụ canh tân Rôma, nói chung, là một minh chứng tỏ tường về việc tôn sùng của Giáo Hội đối với Đức Trinh Nữ. Chúng tôi cảm thấy có lý do để hy vọng rằng những hướng dẫn được ban hành này để giúp cho việc tôn sùng này trở thành tinh tuyền và vững mạnh hơn nữa sẽ được thành tâm áp dụng. Chúng tôi hân hoan là Chúa đã ban cho chúng tôi cơ hội để nêu lên một vài điểm suy tư để canh tân và xác định lòng trân quí đối với việc thực hành Kinh Mân Côi. Chúng tôi muốn biến những cảm tình an ủi, tin tưởng, hy vọng và vui mừng này thành lời thiết tha chúc tụng và tạ ơn Chúa khi chúng tôi hiệp tiếng của mình với tiếng của Đức Trinh Nữ theo như kinh nguyện của Phụng Vụ Rôma.

Chư Huynh thân mến, trong lúc chúng tôi bày tỏ niềm hy vọng là nhờ việc dấn thân quảng đại của chư huynh sẽ mới có được trong hàng giáo sĩ cũng như trong thành phần được trao phó cho việc chăm sóc của chư huynh một gia tăng tốt đẹp việc tôn sùng Mẹ Maria là những gì chắc chắn mang lại lợi ích cho Giáo Hội và xã hội, chúng tôi thân ái ban phép lành tòa thánh đặc biệt cho chư huynh cũng như cho tất cả mọi tín hữu là thành phần được chư huynh nhiệt tình chăm sóc mục vụ.

Ban hành tại Rôma, Đền Thờ Thánh Phêrô, vào ngày thứ hai của Tháng Hai, Lễ Dâng Chúa, trong năm 1974, năm thứ 11 của Giáo Triều chúng tôi.
